I had the chance to attend JetBrainsPlugin Developer Conf 2025, where one of the main stars was 🥑 Jakub Chrzanowski.
As a total newbie in the plugin world, I took away tons of interesting insights.
One of the sessions on the agenda "IDEA Plugin. Getting Started Guide" was led by Dmitrii Derepko, who walked step by step through the process of creating a new plugin.
JetBrains, of course, provides a great intellij-platform-plugin-template, which makes everything so much faster and easier.
But...
As always, I want to really understand how things work under the hood.
You know… just in case one day, during a JetBrains interview, someone asks me "Ok Jakub, but how does that actually work?” 😉
Just kidding... Mostly 😉
I also learned what happens next, from building your first plugin to publishing it on the JetBrains Marketplace.
Still a long way to go, but now I know which direction I’m heading.
Great inspiration, and one more step forward on my dev journey.
